Ran Into R at the Bar After Work

The rebar, that is.

And a close-up of the rebar:

When I drove by on my way to work this morning, the rebar truck was dropping off materials. This afternoon things were progressing nicely, as you can see from the metal that has been placed where the trenches were dug. When the foundation is poured, everywhere that was dug out becomes concrete beams, made stronger by the rebar. The beams generally fall under walls, since that's where the weight of the house is.

Pouring the foundation is scheduled for Friday, assuming all goes as planned this week. The weather looks okay, so it pretty much just depends on everyone getting everything done on schedule. I don't know how long it takes to pump all that concrete into place, but I hope I'll be able to get a picture of the process.
